Dr Charlotte Ganderton has a PhD in Tendinopathy, a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) and a Master of Physiotherapy Practice from La Trobe University. She has a passion for sport and performing arts, and has experience working in musical theatre, circus, football (Aussie Rules) and hockey. Charlotte has a special interest in treating peripheral joint injuries (e.g. hip and shoulder), particularly those that cause excessive joint movement / instability.
Charlotte is also a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Researcher at RMIT University and a Clinical Advisor for WorkSafe. She has received numerous awards for her research, has published over 40 scientific papers, and presented at national and international conferences in the musculoskeletal management of the hip and shoulder. Her research involvement is extensive and includes topics of hip pain (femoroacetabular impingement, hip dysplasia, gluteal tendinopathy), shoulder instability and chronic ankle instability.
Her extensive clinical career has seen her working with MATILDA the Musical, SIX the Musical, Elton John’s FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD (Final Tour) in Melbourne, Western Bulldogs VFL, and Hockey Victoria. She works alongside leading Orthopaedic Surgeons and Sports Physicians to provide evidence-based rehabilitation and post operative management for a variety of conditions.
