For the first two years of my life my family lived in Port Hedland. We then moved to the Kimberley and then to regional South Australia. I myself now have a young family and I am excited to have returned to the Pilbara.
My interest in optometry came about after a traumatic accident to my left eye (courtesy of my older brother – feel free to ask me about this incident when I examine your eyes!). I was fortunate enough to not lose any vision but also to receive exemplary care from our local optometrist, GP and visiting ophthalmologist. Having lived and worked in remote and regional areas of Australia most of my life, I am acutely aware that many Australians do not routinely have access to the care I was privileged to receive. I am passionate about improving the eye health and vision of Australians living in rural and remote regions.
In my spare time I enjoy riding motorbikes, camping and baking. I have an interest in languages and speak German and a poquito of Spanish.
