Elaine graduated with BSc (Honours) in Optometry from the University of Manchester in 1984 and qualified as an Optometrist the following year, becoming a member of the British College of Optometrists. From 1988, Elaine spent 3 years working in Melbourne for a group of practices including a large city centre practice, where she gained experience in contact lens fitting working with senior Australian Optometrists. Back in the UK, Elaine worked in a variety of private practices and part time in a hospital Ophthalmology Department, where she specialised in paediatric optometry and low vision. Elaine returned to Australia in 2003, settling in Brisbane with her husband and three children.
Elaine has always been committed to Independent Optometry feeling this gives her the freedom to make the best choices for her patients. She has a special interest in Children’s Vision and Contact Lens Fitting.
