Dr Tharaka Narayana joined Dr Renee Ashby as a partner dentist at
Shepherds Hill Dental Centre in 2014. Tharaka completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, graduating with first class honours, at Adelaide University in 2006. Since 2006 Tharaka has moved to different parts of Australia, working in private dental practices in Warrnambool, Victoria and Aspley in Brisbane. In 2012, Tharaka returned to his home town of Adelaide and worked in a private dentist in Hindmarsh, Adelaide before joining Shepherds Hill Dental Centre. Tharaka enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and cares about helping people keep healthy teeth for life through preventive dentistry. He also has a special interest in complex restorative and cosmetic aspects of dentistry.
He is actively involved in continuing professional education to refine his knowledge and skills in modern dentistry. He is actively involved in the profession as a mentor through the ADASA mentoring program. As a part of Tharaka's focus on continual learning and development he completed his MBA at University of South Australia (UniSA) in April 2018. Tharaka is also an Army Reservist and is an Army Officer, serving with 3rd Health Battalion.
Outside of work Tharaka loves to spend time with his wife, their young daughters, and family and friends. As a Blackwood local and there is nothing more he loves than the local natural surrounds and bushwalking in this area with his family.
